Two and a Half Men is an American television comedy series which premiered on CBS on September 22, 2003. The sitcom stars Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones.
The show is about a hedonistic jingle writer, Charlie; his uptight brother, Alan; and Alan's young son, Jake. Charlie's free-wheeling life is complicated and altered when his brother gets divorced and moves, along with his son, into Charlie's beach-front mansion. There have been six seasons of Two and a Half Men; the seventh season is currently showing. CBS renewed the show for an additional two seasons. The show is consistently ranked one of the most watched comedies every season in the United States. In 2010, CBS Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television reached a multi-year broadcast agreement for Two and a Half Men, renewing the series through the 2011-12 season.

This show is superb
Charlie Sheen has a reputation for being a wild child, John Cryer plays the perfect neurotic boob, and the writers play perfectly into the juxtaposition of the two. Toss in a juvenile (Angus Jones, aka Jake) and the scenes become flat hilarious.
This show has some of the best creative writing I've seen in years.
No clichéd 'dumbed-down for the masses' or hackneyed pratfalls here, all are setup and timed with perfect execution by the players. Some of the darkest, driest and quick-witted performances on TV in years, very reminiscent of the quirkiness and off-the-cuff repartee of Woody, Norm, et.al. on Cheers. One of the best original laughs on TV these days, hope it survives for a long time!
A real treat, amidst all the dumbed down humor that's seems to prevail everywhere else.
